About New Edge Equine

New Edge Equine wasn’t founded through a business plan, it began organically. In 2014, after relocating from Chicago to Arizona, Alex Bauwens started sharing her riding adventures on Instagram as a way to stay connected with friends. One post led to another, and soon, people began asking for help selling their trail horses.

The first horse Alex sold was Copper, for $2,500. The joy his new family found in him, and the updates they shared about their rides, sparked something meaningful. Horses have shaped Alex’s life in countless ways, and helping match them with the right people felt like a natural extension of that lifelong connection.

Over time, she began working more closely with longtime friends and respected professionals in the industry, including Dan and Wendy Huss, with whom she’d been riding since 2005. What began as a few sale videos grew into a steady stream of horses to represent and sell. It was then that she chose to give this work a name: New Edge Equine.

The name reflects her modern, forward-thinking approach, using video, social media, and digital outreach to give each horse the best possible chance of finding the right home. But behind the tech is something timeless: honest representation, clear communication, and genuine care for both horse and human.

New Edge Equine isn’t about high volume, it’s about the right match.

Whether someone is looking for their next horse or seeking a trusted partner to sell one they care deeply about, Alex would be honored to help.
